New Fanuc Robodrill VMCs Enhance CapabilitiesUpland Fab is proud to announce the acquisition of two powerful new CNC machine tools. Our Fanuc Robodrill T14iBL and T21iE Vertical Machining Centers use super-rigid construction and state-of-the-art technology to deliver amazing speed and accuracy. Precise high-speed contouring and super-minute line segment programming provide smooth machined surfaces that virtually eliminate the need for hand finishing. The T14iBL has a 15,000 rpm spindle and the T21iE has a 24,000 rpm spindle. Both have .0002” position accuracy with .00007” repeatability, and tool changes take a mere 1.7 seconds from chip to chip. With these advanced machines we can deliver incredibly accurate parts in less time, saving our customers time and money. AS9100 Rev B CertificationUpland Fab is working toward AS9100 Rev B certification with a target date of March, 2008. The AS9100 quality control system is based upon ISO 9001:2000 and was created to support the aerospace industry. A significant goal of the AS9100 quality plan is to adopt a process-oriented method of management including: understanding, meeting and integrating customer requirements; considering processes in terms of added value; obtaining results of process performance and effectiveness; and continuous improvement of processes based on objective measurement. Composites Machining at Upland FabFollowing a comprehensive survey at our facility, Upland Fab has received approval from Lockheed Martin to machine flight-critical parts from carbon fiber composites and BMI for the F/A-22 program. Upland Fab is now approved for processes: 5PTPTT02 Fracture/Durability Critical Parts, 5PTPTT11 Mission/Safety & Durability Mech Equip, 5PTPTT12 Wind Swept Surface Parts and 2ZZP00006ASIP/MESIP Critical Parts F-35. Using our state-of-the-art 5-axis vertical CNC machining capabilities, Upland Fab extends our knowledge and expertise in plastic machining to your carbon-fiber composite requirements.
